A few weeks ago, Benedict Cumberbatch announced a charity scheme with Omaze: you could bid on a chance to travel to LA, meet Bendy in person, have tea with him and then attend the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War. Benedict is doing this for charity, and he’s not alone – many celebrities offer similar schemes. Idris Elba has done it a few times too. Celebrities often do fun, goofy or sexy Omaze videos to tempt people into making bids. This was Benedict’s first attempt at a video:

I get that he was trying to be goofy and weird, but it doesn’t help that he actually IS a gigantic goofball or an alien-lizard in human skin trying to “pass.” So I didn’t know what to expect from the second video. I didn’t expect Benedict to talk dirty to a cup of steeping tea.

First of all, is this the way you people make a *pot* of tea? If I’m boiling all of that water – enough for a pot – then I’m steeping the tea bags in the pot, not doing it individually, cup by cup. As for Benedict talking dirty to a cup of tea…lord help us. If Benedict had done this circa 2012, I think this post would probably have had 300 comments. Those were Benedict’s prime internet-boyfriend years. But in 2018, does Benedict still give anyone any lady-part-tingles when he talks dirty? Or does it just make you feel sorry for poor ol’ loyal and trusty Sophie Hunterbatch? She has to put up with this 24-7. Poor Sophie!
