Camila’s fame came when she was part of the girl group Fifth Harmony. It was one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. While with the group, Camila also began working on her solo career. She collaborated with Shawn Mendes and Machine Gun Kelly and released some albums with them that made to the US Billboard Top 100 list.

In late 2016, Camila left Fifth Harmony to concentrate on her solo career. And her debut studio album in 2018 reached no.1 on US Billboard 200. It has Platinum certification from the RIAA. Her duet with Shawn Mendez called Senorita also hit the top slot in 2019 US Billboard 100. Her career picked up from there and she now is now one of the best rated music artists of the USA.

Camila started dating Austin Mahone in 2014. Austin was all praise for her but somewhere along the way, the two split. Later in 2015, Camila and Louis Tomlinson were seen together outside a night club in LA. There were speculations that the two are in love but neither party confirmed the rumor. Similarly, after she and Michael Clifford were spotted on a dinner date the same year, the rumor mill started rolling but nothing was confirmed.

Jacob Whitesides had a crush on Camila which he admitted to MTV, but later on, he said that they are just friends. She and dating coach and writer Matthew Hussey were caught kissing in February 2018 in Mexico. They dated until June 2019. In November 2018, Camila told Marie Claire:

Camila’s mental condition and ban on her Tumblr account

Camila suffers from anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She has revealed that she is under therapy for it and urged her fans to take care of their mental health.

There were some old posts of Camila on Tumblr that she had reblogged in 2012-2013. These surfaced on Twitter in December 2019. It had several racial slurs and used derogatory language. In one post, she had mocked Chris Brown for having attacked Rihanna.

After this, Tumblr deleted her account. Camila put in an apology stating that she was young, uneducated, and ignorant at that time. She expressed embarrassment on those posts. Further, she tweeted:

“I would never intentionally hurt anyone and I regret it from the bottom of my heart,”

She said that those statements do not represent the person she is now and wrote:

“I use my platform to speak out about injustice and inequality and I’ll continue doing that,”

“I can’t say enough how deeply sorry and ashamed I feel, and I apologize again from the bottom of my heart.”

In March 2021, she told that she has undergone the weekly racial healing sessions. The racial equity group National Compadres Network administered these sessions.
