Cheryl Gates McFadden, known as Gates McFadden, is an American actress, producer, and choreographer. She is credited as Cheryl McFadden when working as a choreographer.

Gates is renowned for her role as Dr. Beverly Crusher in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Among her notable films are Taking Care of Business, The Hunt for Red October, Star Trek First Contact, Star Trek Insurrection, and Star Trek Nemesis.

Gates Mcfadden Plastic Surgery details

There have been rumors that actress had facial plastic surgery. The Star Trek actress has always been admired for her stunning facial features and gorgeous skin.

Gates’ appearance in the promotion of Star Trek: Picard’s new season, she looked just as stunning, which may have misled viewers, leading them to believe that she had cosmetic surgery.

Gates was born on March 2, 1949, in Akron, Ohio. Before going to Paris, she attended Brandeis University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in theater arts. McFadden has a Lithuanian lineage on her mother’s side.

Throughout the 1970s, McFadden worked as a professor in the post-secondary theater and dance programs at institutions like the University of Pittsburgh, George Washington University, and the  Harvard University

During this time, she founded the New York Theatre Commotion and toured an all-female clown show called “Commedia Dell Pinky” in 1975.

The producer was credited in the Troma film When Nature Calls and as “Cliff’s 50th Birthday” in the season three episode of The Cosby Show.

In 1987, Cheryl was cast as Dr. Beverly Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Highlights of her character included “The High Ground,” “Remember Me,” “The Host,” “Suspicions,” “Descent,” “Sub Rosa,” and “Attached.”

The choreographer took part in a four-city tour of the play Every Good Boy Deserves Favour in 1992. In 1995, she co-starred in the television series Marker, and in 1997, she acted in the made-for-TV film Crowned and Dangerous.

Mrs. Gates made several appearances in Microsoft television commercials in the spring of 2006 and was listed as an associate professor at the University of Southern California School of Drama as of August 2010.

From January 2009 through October 2014, the actress served as the Ensemble Studio Theatre’s artistic director in Los Angeles. The Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek, a multi-part documentary series that aired on the cable network History in 2021, was narrated by her.

In 2021, she launched the “Gates McFadden InvestiGates” podcast and interviewed friends and former co-stars. Gates is still active in the entertainment business at the age of 73.
