Fair warning: This article contains spoilers for Episode 4 of HBO’s House of the Dragon. In Episode 4 of House of the Dragon, a significant George R.R. Martin character is at last referenced: the White Worm. In the realm of Essos and Westeros, the White Worm winds up assuming a significant part as the Dance of the Dragons follows. The principal reference to her in House of the Dragon is by Otto Hightower, the obscure hand to King Viserys.

Otto obviously has his own intentions of force, and it seems like the White Worm is there to help him … or that the White Worm has her own thought processes. So who is she, and which job does she play in the more extensive House of the Dragon group? We really met the White Worm before in ‘Place of the Dragon.’

In spite of the fact that Episode 4 is the principal notice of the White Worm by her new nickname, we really met her in the start of the side project series. Indeed, the White Worm is really Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno), otherwise called Daemon Targaryen’s lover. Mysaria plays a key part in Episode 2 when Daemon takes a mythical beast egg from King’s Landing for his “unborn child.” We later learn in the episode that Daemon hadn’t educated Mysaria regarding his expectations to wed her, nor was she with kid.

By Episode 4, Daemon gets back to King’s Landing in the wake of overcoming the Crab Feeder and vanquishing the Stepstones. Obviously Daemon and Mysaria’s relationship is finished, which ought not be excessively surprising, taking into account the way that Mysaria wouldn’t hesitate to support herself when Daemon attempted to involve her for his own political addition. In Fire and Blood (the source material for House of the Dragon), Mysaria is otherwise called Lady Misery.

While it appears to be that she’s initially on a mission to seek retribution on her previous darling, by the Dance of the Dragons, Misery the White Worm becomes both Daemon and Rhaenyra’s fancy woman of whisperers. This implies that Mysaria was the primary vessel through which information, privileged insights, and tattle streamed while heading to Rhaenyra.

In the book, Mysaria is known as the White Worm in view of her smooth white skin and worm-like plan of spreading tattle; yet in the series, she’s simply continuously donning white! We love a decent clear gesture to her mystery change self image.

In Episode 4 of ‘Place of the Dragon,’ the White Worm works for Otto Hightower. While the White Worm at last works for Rhaenyra in the Dance of the Dragons (the Targaryen nationwide conflict), she first neutralizes Rhaenyra as Otto Hightower’s witness. Essentially, after Rhaenyra and Daemon’s tryst in the house of ill-repute — indeed, that is a portion of the Targaryen inbreeding we’ve been guaranteed — we see a road imp report their presence to somebody.

Then, at that point, Otto is shipped off the Red Keep entryway, where “a courier brings word from the White Worm.” And we can assemble the pieces when the imp appears at Mysaria’s bedchambers (where Daemon awakens hungover and discourteously addresses Mysaria), and the imp hands Mysaria installment. What for? Not so much for bedding, but rather for the information she so thoughtfully shipped off Otto.

Essentially, the imp reports what he saw to Mysaria, who then, at that point, requests that he carry that information to Otto. Whether this is for vengeance against Daemon or to help one more beneficiary’s case to the privileged position is hazy as of now. What is clear, notwithstanding, is that Mysaria/White Worm’s underground organization of spies will give her significantly more power than we at first expected.
