Thomas Wayne Markle is the father of the famous Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. The retired director of television lighting and photography was born on July 18th, 1944.

Markle received an Emmy award for his massive work on television programs, especially for “Made in Chicago” in 1975.

The retired director also received a Daytime Emmy Award along with one other for their work on the soap opera “General Hospital” way back in 1982.

Markle came to the limelight following the marriage of her youngest child, Meghan, in 2018 to Prince Harry. It was rumored that Markle would not attend the marriage ceremony, and actually he did not.

He did not attend the marriage ceremony in the United Kingdom because he was recovering from surgery at the time. He underwent heart surgery and was discharged from the hospital two days before the epic ceremony. Meghan’s father is said to have claimed later that he was not officially invited.

Thomas Markle is not dead, but have suffered a stroke which has been described as major. This is said to have happened days before he leaves for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
