Thomas Jacob Black born August 28, 1969, is an actor, comedian, singer, and songwriter from the United States.
Thomas Jacob Black was born in the California city of Santa Monica. He is the son of Thomas William Black and Judith Love Cohen, both satellite engineers. He grew up in Hermosa Beach, California.

His mother worked on the Minuteman nuclear missile guidance system, the Apollo lunar module guiding system, and the Hubble Space Telescope research ground station as a writer.
Scientist Neil Siegel, Howard Siegel, and Rachel Siegel are his three older half-siblings who he shares a mother with.
His father converted, and his mother was raised as a Jew.

Black was reared Jewish, going to Hebrew school and having his bar mitzvah. He is also of Polish, Russian, and Scotch-Irish descent.
Many films, including High Fidelity (2000), Shallow Hal, Orange County, School of Rock, Envy, The Holiday, Gulliver’s Travels, Bernie and many more have featured Black.
