Neil Young opens up about his marriage
Neil Young had yet not told anyone outside his close friends and family that he has married actress Daryl Hannah.
In a post that he had uploaded regarding the ‘common sense gun laws’ which should be introduced in the US, he described Daryl as his wife.
It has been reported that the couple walked down the aisle together a few months back in August 2018.
It is said that Neil had put up a live video of his song called Ohio on his official website and has requested people to support the students who are asking for gun law changes.
He wrote under the video:
“Today’s students are brave, demanding change in violent times. We stand with them. They are us. We are them. This has been going on for far too long.
“My wife Daryl and I put this video together for you to reflect on.
“Support the students. Support our children. They want protection. Not more guns.
“Give us common sense gun laws that protect our people, in schools, in places of worship, in the workplace and on the streets. VOTE. (sic)”
The previous cue to the wedding
There was some hint given by guitarist Mark Miller two months back when he had made mentioned that the couple had wed in a small ceremony held in California in August 2018.
Mark had written on his Facebook page:
“Congratulations to Daryl Hannah and Neil Young on their wedding today. May they have a long and happy relationship.
“I only knew about it because one of my friends attended the ceremony in Atascadero and announced it on his page.”
About the relationship between Neil Young and Daryl Hannah
Neil Young and Daryl had begun dating in the year 2014 after Neil filed the relevant papers for his divorce from his wife Pegi Young.
When tongues began wagging about their relationship, Neil said that he and Daryl don’t mind a s**t about what people think about them or their relationship.
Neil had said these words:
“Love is like a fart – if you have to force it, it’s probably s**t.”
He added:
“That sounds about right. She says I’m unruly, and I think she’s too tough, but aside from that, we’re great.
“We’re pretty real. As artists, we support each other and understand, because we both have an element of fame. We understand what that means.”
Neil Young and his past
Neil was married to restaurant owner Susan Acevedo in December 1968 and the couple divorced in October 1970 with no children. He dated actress Carrie Snodgress from 1970 to 1975. Their son Zeke was born on 8 September 1972.
Neil met Pegi who worked as a waitress at a diner near his ranch in 1974. The couple married in 1978 and had two children-Ben and Amber. Both Zeke and Ben suffer from cerebral palsy and Amber has epilepsy. In 2014, he filed for divorce from Pegi.
