Former Indian Kerala State Minister of Labour and Finance who began serving in 2004 as Chief Minister of the Kerala State. In 2011, he began a second term as Chief Minister and also served as the Kerala State Minister of Home Affairs.

Before Fame

While earning an undergraduate law degree from the Government Law College in Ernakulam, India, he was elected President of the Kerala Students Union.

His marriage to Mariamma Oommen resulted in two daughters and one son.
