Frank Catania of The Real Housewives of New Jersey recently sat down for a podcast with The Morning Toast, where he shared an upsetting update about his health.

During the podcast, Frank revealed that he had been diagnosed with Basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer that mostly develops on areas of skin that are highly exposed to the sun.

The ex-husband to RHONJ star Dolores Catania did not go into much detail about his health. He revealed he underwent a surgery to have it removed, and is doing well post-op. He confessed to being a bit scared but his close friend Dr. Bill Aydin performed the surgery and all went well.

Fans took to twitter to show their support for Frank through kind words. “Sending prayers to Frank Catania. May God put his healing hands on you,” one fan expressed.

The scary news may have brought up past memories, as Dolores has dealt with a cancer scare of her own. The two share two children together, Gabrielle and Frankie, and have remained very close friends for almost two decades.

At the end of 2021, Dolores Catania revealed that she was dating someone new: Paul Connell.

“[Dolores is] with him constantly. She likes him a lot and they have a lot in common,” the insider told Us Weekly . “She’s attracted to him on a deeper level, especially his charitable side and giving back which is something she does all the time.”

The insider also explained why Dolores split from David Principe.

“Dolores and David broke up this past summer. There was no bad blood between them,” they told the outlet. The couple, who had been dating since 2017, simply “grew apart.”

Their relationship was a hot topic on RHONJ since Dolores didn’t fully live with her boyfriend.

“She gave her all but didn’t get the same from David,” the source continued. “He was non-existent in her social life and rarely made appearances at events with her. They just had different lives and weren’t able to make it work. She wasn’t happy in the inside and for a while she hid her true feelings from friends.”

David wasn’t a huge fan of Dolores’s choice to have plastic surgery, which caused a rift in their relationship. Dolores also has an unconventional relationship with her ex-husband, which can be an issue for the men she’s dated.

“If you’re a man in my life, No.1, you have to be sure enough with yourself to handle my relationship with my ex-husband,” she said. “And you have to be man enough to be able to handle my personality, not that I’m strong. I will do more for a guy, I’ll cook, I’ll clean, I’ll come home in a full gown and make you food at 10 o’clock, but don’t try to stop me from being who I am and doing what I want to do. And don’t try to get in between my family dynamics.”

As for her new man though, he seems to be fitting right in.

According to Women’s Health Magazine, Paul is an electrician who lives in New York City.
