Unsettling new information has come to light regarding the violent suspected murder of a young girl who worked at Walgreens in Colorado and was slain, according to investigators, after she turned down a male coworker’s advances.

Early in June of this year, Riley Whitelaw, 17, who had lately asked for more hours at her job at a Colorado Springs Walgreens branch near Ute Valley Park, was discovered dead in the break room. There was “blood everywhere,” the store manager Justin Zunino reported the finding and told the 911 operator.

Joshua Taylor Johnson, 28, is being detained without bond at the El Paso County prison on first-degree murder charges after being apprehended by Colorado State Patrol a day after the death of Whitelaw while wandering along Interstate 25 outside Trinidad.
