Hughes family announce Helen Slayton Hughes’s death without disclosing the cause of her death
Helen Slayton Hughes, who was best known for portraying court stenographer Ethel Beavers on Parks and Recreation, passed away at the age of 92. According to Hughes’s family, Helen wasn’t well however, they didn’t provide any details about her health condition in the media.
On Thursday, her family took to the Facebook platform to announce the tragic news that prominent actress Helen Slayton Hughes is no longer with us. The family shared a sweet video montage documenting Slayton-Hughes’ years-long acting career with a heartbreaking statement,
“To the friends and fans of our beloved Helen, Helen passed away last night. Her pain has ended but her fierce spirit lives on.”

In the video, the family also posted a quote from the late actress which read, “I love doing drama but I’m always hired to do comedy”. Along with that, they expressed gratitude towards all her fans who supported her career over the years stating,
“Thank you for the love and support of her and her work. Rest sweet one.-With love: The Hughes family,”
As of now, the family hasn’t disclosed her cause of death.

As soon as Hughes’s family confirmed her death friends and fans flooded the comments section to pass on their condolences and honor her memory.
One of her fans commented,
“She was such a wonderful person and actress. I first knew of her as Ethel Beavers, and she brought so much laughter to my home through that, alongside a red heart emoji.”
While another person penned down,
“I am so sorry for your loss. I became a fan of Helen later in her life following her role in Parks and Rec. Helen brought a lot of light and laughter to the world and will be deeply missed thinking of Helen’s family in this sad time,”

Similarly, her film roles included Good Night, and Good Luck (2005), Veronica Mars (2014), Netflix’s He’s All That (2021), and so on. While speaking about her recent hit project, she played opposite Marlon Wayans and Kelly Rowland in the movie The Curse of Bridge Hollow in October.
