An exciting new German thriller series on Netflix has hit the Top 10. Dear Child is a six-part series based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Romy Hausmann. Dear Child is about a woman and two children who have been held captive for many years. One day, two of them manage to escape, but they get into a car accident on their way out of the forest and wind up in the hospital where the mystery surrounding their captivity and the connection to a previous missing persons case comes to light.

It’s unlikely that Dear Child will return for a second season. Netflix has been advertising the show as a limited series and it was based on a single book, not a series of books. Furthermore, Dear Child wraps up its mysteries by the end of the sixth episode, so there isn’t a huge cliffhanger or anything left unresolved to move forward into another season.
