Indian Matchmaking. You either love or hate the Netflix reality series. The first season came out in 2020 to mixed reviews, some criticizing how the show portrayed classism and gender stereotypes.

The series is produced by Smriti Mundhra. The leader of the series is Sima Taparia, a marriage consultant from Mumbai who uses preferences from the people, their parents, and her years of matchmaking to set people up with the goal of a successful arranged marriage.

Indian Matchmaking season 2 arrived on Netflix on Aug. 10. Whether you like the show or not, some of you might be wondering if a third season has been green-lit by the streaming service.

If you were hoping for more matchmaking tales, then you’ll be happy to know that Indian Matchmaking has already been renewed for a third season. Mundhra will be taking her skills to the U.K. to help people find their perfect match.

In season 1, there wasn’t one successful pairing that was made. The sophomore season consisted of eight episodes of single millennials around the globe looking for their perfect match.

The wishlists ranged from man-buns, to an “ovo-lacto-semi-vegetarian” diet, to a shared love of Taco Bell. According to Netflix, the marriage consultant draws from her years of experience, insightful intuition, and traditional methods in the hopes of finding success.

Mark your calendar and clear your schedule because Indian Matchmaking season 3 arrives on Netflix on Friday, April 21, 2023! You can expect the complete third season to land on the streamer at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on this date.

Here’s the official synopsis via Netflix press release:

"Sima from Mumbai is back and busier than ever! This season, Mumbai’s premiere matchmaker will help single millennials around the globe find their perfect match. From London to New Delhi, Miami to New York, Sima will manage more expectations than ever before from clients, old and new. Drawing from her decades of experience, insightful intuition and traditional methods, Sima strives to help some lucky singles find their destinies!"

There will be eight 40-minute-long episodes in the third season. This shouldn’t be surprising because previous seasons had the same episode count. Netflix typically orders the same amount of episodes for new seasons of its shows.
